The Promised Land

Tuesday, October 11th, 2005

Today, October the 11th 2005; Finally got my UK work permit. Hopefully everythign will be smooth sailing from now on. I realize I am in an industry that has always been in flip flops. Auotmotive consulting is really a challenging career path to thread on. Why? Well, for one, no car manufacturers produces their products as fast as those Nokia phones. Cost of development of a new car range from at least RM400,000,000.00 onwards. Yes… thats RM400 million. So its not a cheap business and its also full of competition.

For now, even though I have the work permit to UK in my hands… everything could still change over in a blink of a day. While I am going down to Jalan Ampang tomorrow to get more details pertaining documents required for my Visa applications… there’s a risk of the project being called off. And if its does… the work permit will remain as a work permit on a sheet of paper. It might not be cool… but thats life. And that’s life in automotive consulting firm. Guess I have to live with it, unless i decided to change field of course.

Until then, here’s just another pic of myself in office. Just like any other day.

Brainless Bastards

Friday, October 7th, 2005

Some silly ass joker double parked beside my car last night. To make things worse. He didnt budge a lil’ bit at all this morning when I wanted to drive out to go work. Ironically the car in front of me was still there and unattended. So was the van which parked behind. This was 7.30am.

8.00am. Time which I am suppose to be sitting my ass in office, yet there I was squatting like a beggar by the small drain beside my car. Waiting for any of those car owners to at least appear and drive off. Blood was boiling at this point. And so I thought that maybe these fellas’ office hourse start at 8.30am. So I waited.

8.30am. Still no one. Started kickin’ some stones and dust up. Walking up and down. Peeped thru the car which double parked… to see if the hand-brake was pulled up. Yes it was. Damn pissed. Cursing all the way. And so I thought that maybe these fellas’ office hourse start at 9.00am. So I waited - again.

9.30am. Damn I felt like an idiot for waiting out for a total of 2 fuckin hours for these bastards to come and move off. So I ended walking up to the guard house and cursing all the way there. Dropped my mobile number to them and asked them to inform me when these cars moves. I might as well go back into my apartment and rest. Feeling damn fucked.

So I called my office up and infomed about it. And it was only during lunchtime, around 12.00noon, that the driver of the car in front of mine finally drove off. I quickly got dressed and went for lunch.

Today’s lesson : Some Malaysians are so fuckin’ brainless that they do not bother about others’ well being.

Kinda freaky huh?! Imagine walking down the street and you see yourself in the opposite side of the road! Or maybe, seeing your partner with another person after he/she just told you he/she would be off to the restroom just for a lil’ while! Darn…crazy world!

Financial Planning

Monday, October 3rd, 2005

I came to realize that throughout my life, I have done very little financial planning. That’s not good. Dont ask me what hit me and made such an elightment to this block of brains in my head. Somehow I just woke up in the middle of the night, and went to my PC and launched an Excel sheet. Punch in some numbers and realized how much I would have saved, or rather how much I have lost - all thanks to my lack of planning on my own financial sources and expenses.

Sometimes it makes me wonder where the hell did i splurge all my money to. I have a huge stack of VCD’s at home. Which some of it was just being chucked aside cuz they are blur. A few boxes of playing cards…which may mean something to me, while it is just plain rubbish to others. And worse of all, I spend so much on food & beverages that I tend to lose track of how much.

After some number crunching session and working out on what I could achieve and which that I cant, I came about a resort to save approximately 25% of my gross monthly salary. Maybe 20% would be more appropriate so my current lifestyle wont be altered that much.

I definitely need to get this going. Doubt I could afford going on spending almost every single penny I earn every month. Now I realize what my dad used to tell me about savings for rainy days.

Well… I guess sometimes, a person just have to wake up… and now I think I am awake. After all, its my own future in my own hands.

Great Weekend!

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005

Had a great weekend. Sunday night’s feast was a marvel. Had 1 whole crab stir fried in butter. :P~ Tofu Salad and also some veggies. It was quite a cool evening I had, with some thong sui after that.

Saturday was terrific as well. I got to see Bubu again :) and this time, brought her out for the first time to public. Actually went to the Mines Convention Center, cuz there was a pet fair there organized by Ikanuba - one of those main pet food brands. Bubu got to see many other puppies, as well as many other GIANT dogs. She must have been very excited as happy as well. Hehehe… anyway, she did her trademark posing : that’s lying flat on her belly on the floor, most of the time refusing to budge or move on her feet. So I had to sometimes drag her around like a mop! Lucky the floor surface was smooth.

Had such a great time that even I was exhausted when Bubu finally got back home. She slept like a lil cute baby… while I laid flat on the floor… still taking pictures of her… hehehe…

Well lets hope for a great week now.

Still no news from my company’s UK counterparts.

Have to start working out vigorously again. Wanna get back that 6 packs aint an easy meazy thing to do. Hurrghhhh!!!
